• Your scar must be fully healed and mature before camouflage treatment. The procedure can be performed one year after the scar formation.
• The scar tissue should be flat, soft, and no longer changing in color or texture.
• If you have had any surgical revisions or treatments on the scar, wait at least 6–12 months before scheduling camouflage.
• Scars from burns, keloids, or hypertrophic scars may require medical clearance before treatment.

• Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 5 weeks before your appointment. Tanned skin makes proper color matching difficult.
• Do not apply self tanners or bronzing products to the treatment area for at least 2 weeks prior.
• Begin moisturizing the scar tissue daily for at least 2 weeks before your appointment. Well hydrated skin accepts pigment better.
• Discontinue use of retinoids, AHA/BHA acids, and exfoliating products on the treatment area for 1 week before your session.
• Do not wax, thread, or use hair removal products on the treatment area for at least 1 week prior.
• Avoid blood-thinning medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, and fish oil for 24 hours before the procedure unless prescribed by your physician.
• Refrain from consuming alcohol for 24 hours before treatment to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding.
• Avoid caffeine on the day of your procedure to help maintain stable blood pressure.
• If you are taking antibiotics or any photosensitive medications, inform your technician beforehand
• Arrive with clean skin – remove all makeup, lotions, creams, and oils from the treatment area.
• Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area.
• Be prepared for the appointment to take 1.5–3 hours depending on the size of the area.
• Eat a light meal before your appointment to maintain energy levels.
• Stay well-hydrated.
DAYS 1–2:
• The pigmented area will appear darker and more saturated than the final result – this is normal.
• You may experience slight redness and swelling around the treated area.
• The area may feel tender or sensitive to touch.
• Some pinpoint lymph discharge may occur in the first 24 hours.
DAYS 3–7:
• The pigment will begin to oxidize and may appear even darker temporarily.
• Light flaking or peeling may start as the skin begins to heal.
• Scabbing should be minimal but may occur in some areas.
• Important: Do not pick, scratch, or remove any flaking skin
or scabs.
DAYS 8–14:
• Flaking and peeling will continue as the outer layer of skin sheds.
• The pigment will appear significantly lighter during this phase -this is normal.
• The treated area may look patchy or uneven as it heals.
WEEKS 4–6:
• The pigment will settle into the skin and begin to show its true color.
• The treated area will continue to blend with surrounding skin.
• Some pigment loss is normal during healing (approximately 20–40%).
LONG-TERM HEALING:
• Final results will be visible 6–8 weeks after the procedure.
• The healed color will be softer and more natural than immediately post-procedure.
• Multiple sessions spaced 8 weeks apart are usually required for optimal coverage and color blending.
• Touch-ups may be needed as skin tone changes with sun exposure or aging.
