1. SKIN & SCAR PREPARATION

• Your scars or stretch marks should be fully healed before microneedeling treatment. Wait at least 6–12 months after injury or surgery before beginning treatment.

• Active acne, rosacea, or eczema in the treatment area must be resolved before your appointment.

• If you have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, consult with your technician and a dermatologist before proceeding.

• Begin using a gentle, hydrating skincare routine at least 2 weeks before your appointment to prepare your skin.

2. SKIN PREPARATION

• Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least one week before your appointment. Do not treat sunburned or tanned skin.

Do not apply self-tanners or bronzing products for at least 1 week prior.

Discontinue use of retinoids (Retin-A, Tretinoin, Retinol) for 5–7 days before treatment.

Stop using AHA/BHA acids, vitamin C serums, and exfoliating products for 3–5 days before your session.

Do not wax, thread, or use depilatory creams on the treatment area for at least 1 week prior.

Avoid chemical peels, laser treatments, or other aggressive skin procedures for at least 2 weeks before microneedling.

3. MEDICATIONS & SUPPLEMENTS

• Avoid blood-thinning medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil, and NSAIDs for 48–72 hours before the procedure unless prescribed by your physician.

• Refrain from consuming alcohol for 24–48 hours before treatment to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding.

Avoid caffeine on the day of your procedure to help maintain stable blood pressure and reduce sensitivity.

Do not take antibiotics for 2–3 days before the procedure unless prescribed by your doctor.

4. DAY OF THE PROCEDURE

• Wear comfortable clothing and avoid tight-fitting items that may rub against the treatment area.

• Plan for some downtime – your skin will be red and sensitive after the procedure for up to two days

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER MICRONEEDLING IMMEDIATE EFFECTS (FIRST FEW HOURS):

Your skin will appear red and flushed, similar to a moderate sunburn.

• The treated area may feel tight, warm, or slightly tender.

• Minor pinpoint bleeding or lymph may be visible – this is normal and expected.

• Mild swelling may occur, especially around delicate areas such as under the eyes or on the neck.

DAYS 1–2:

• Redness will be most intense during this period and will gradually subside.

• Swelling may increase slightly on Day 1 and should begin to decrease by Day 2.

• Your skin may feel dry, tight, or sensitive.

• You may notice slight flaking or texture changes as the skin begins to heal.

Moisturize your skin with vitamin ointment regularly when you feel discomfort.

DAYS 3–5:

• Redness will fade to a pink or rosy tone.

• Peeling or flaking may occur as your skin regenerates – this is a normal part of the healing process.

• The treated area may feel slightly rough or textured.

• Do not pick or peel any flaking skin.

DAYS 6–14:

• Most visible redness and flaking will subside.

• Your skin will continue to regenerate and produce new collagen beneath the surface.

• The treated area should return to near-normal appearance by the end of Week 2.

WEEKS 2–12:

• Collagen production and skin remodeling continue during this phase – this is when you’ll see the real benefits.

• Scars and stretch marks will gradually soften, flatten, and improve in texture and color.

• Multiple sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart may sometimes be needed for optimal results.

Full results from a series of treatments become visible 3–6 months after your final session.
