1. Treatments
Schedule your permanent lip makeup session at least one month before or after any lip filler injections to allow for tissue stabilization.
If you have had any surgical procedures near the lips, consult with your doctor to determine an appropriate timeline for undergoing permanent makeup.
2. Lip Care / Cold Sores
Begin exfoliating and moisturizing your lips one week before your appointment. Properly hydrated and smooth lips ensure better pigment absorption and more even color application.
If you have a history of cold sores (herpes simplex virus) around the lips, we recommend consulting a healthcare provider before your appointment. They may prescribe antiviral medication.
3. Health
Avoid taking antibiotics 2–3 days before the procedure unless prescribed by your physician.
Refrain from consuming alcohol 24 hours before the procedure to reduce the risk of swelling and bleeding.
Avoid caffeine on the day of your procedure to help keep you relaxed and maintain stable blood pressure.
Do not take blood-thinning medications, such as Aspirin, the day before the procedure. If you are on prescribed anticoagulant therapy, consult with your doctor.
You may be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle. For increased comfort, consider booking your appointment a week before or after your period.
4. Retinoids
If you are taking Accutane or similar strong retinoids, wait 12 months after your last dose before scheduling a session to ensure skin integrity.
If you are using Retin-A or other topical retinoids, stop use and wait one month before your appointment. You may resume use one month after the procedure.
